Down, Dog, and Kennel! (1979)
Choreographed by Pamela Harling
Sound: Mike Challis
Set and Costumes: Pamela Harling

Down, Dog, and Kennel! is Pamela Harling’s comment on Amarriage, war, and moving 200 pounds of feed corn. In this richly environmental piece, Nicoll and Oreck struggle against an unseen force, alternately cooperating and clashing as they tackle, hurl, pile, and burrow into 180 bags of corn and, sometimes, each other. The relationship of the dancers unfolds through a dramatic series of contrasts: moments of stillness punctuated by dynamic lifts, moments of tenderness broken by scenes of struggle.
